As they hold exponential potential for the future of the economy, women are still under-represented in Europe in all leading positions. To use a famous metaphor, they are still trapped beneath a "glass ceiling" presumably preventing them from making their way to the top. Are women suffering from surviving prejudices from society or are they tacitly accepting their condition?

CafeBabel Brussels proposes to shed some light on the reasons for such a situation in the Union through a panorama of perceptions on women in several Member States. From Belgium to Romania, from Sweden to Greece, it seems that European businesswomen have to face very different situations.

We will discuss with our guests the hurdles and the opportunities women have in their professional lives.
